Lina Paumgarten is Wellness Coordinator, High School Counselor, and Senior Athletic Coach at the International School Nido de Aguilas, Chile. In this capacity she teaches students, faculty, parents, and athletes approaches to mindfulness and wellness that range from 10-week, compulsory courses in the school curriculum, 4-week smaller group sessions, as well as one-on-one sessions on Mindful Awareness and Mental Toughness with individuals seeking to de-stress or increase performance in any aspect of their lives.
As a Third Culture Kid, Lina has experienced transitions as a student, athlete, and a professional across 6 continents and 13 countries, and she brings this unique background to every teaching moment. Lina has been coaching for 20 years, counseling for the last 15, and has been certified to teach mindfulness (including Mindfulness in Schools .b, Mindful Schools, and is a certified Yoga Instructor) for the past 9 years. To date she has taught mindful awareness in the realm of sports, education and mental health to over 1000 students and athletes and over 600 teachers, staff, and parents.
Lina holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, a Master of Arts in Education in Counseling Psychology and a Master of Advanced Studies in Health and Fitness.
